Differences between OneDrive and SharePoint

SharePoint

Both are Microsoft Web Cloud Storage Platform
 Both are available online and can be synced to your local computer

Both use OneDrive client to sync documents for Offline use and Explorer view:

Permissions

Only you have access to your own OneDrive

All Department users or other company users that IT assigns

 

 

One Drive usage:

SharePoint Usage

  • Personal Documents
  • Draft documents and items that other users in the company don’t necessarily need access to
  • Certain pictures and videos that are not important for others to access
  • All department and company data that needs to be accessed by other users

 

  • Users with existing access automatically have access to this data; you don’t have to share
