Sending out an electronic fax via email

Modified on Wed, 20 Nov, 2019 at 11:16 AM

  1. Open Outlook and click "New Email"
  2. In the "Options" ribbon make sure the "From" button is selected in the "Show Fields" section.
  3. Click the "From" button then click "Other Email Address" in the dropdown menu.
  4. Type "fax@aasm.org" in the textbox.
  5. In the "To" field the email should be addressed to number@faxp.ecomfax.com. (replace "number" with the fax phone number you are sending to)
  6. Type your email Subject Line. You must insert our PIN code at the beginning of the subject line. Our PIN code is 6073. There cannot be any spaces after the PIN code and your subject line. For example: "6073This is the Subject Line".  Whatever is typed in the Subject Line of the email will appear in the Notes section of the Cover Letter that is faxed. Example Cover Letter pictured below. (You can leave the actual content of the email blank as this is not faxed over in any way.)
  7. Finally, Attach the file you would like to be faxed to the email and click "Send".
  8. Please check with the Front Desk if you would like to confirm the fax went through. It can take up to 10 minutes to receive confirmation.
